Yoshinaka

Minamoto no Yoshinaka (源 義仲), who loved Yamabuki, became a general of the late Heian period of Japanese history. A member of the Minamoto samurai clan, Minamoto no Yoritomo was his cousin and rival during the Genpei War between the Minamoto and the Taira clans. Yoshinaka was born in Musashi province, but was raised in the Kiso Mountains after his uncle betrayed and killed his father. Yoshinaka later changed his name from Minamoto to Kiso (木曾), to reflect the Kiso Mountains where he was raised.
